Welcome to TIMBO'S DRUM SHOP AFFILIATES PAGE.

There are several ways that you can drive the traffic that will earn you cash with Timbo's free affiliate program.

Link to our store with by using Timbo's Drum Shops banner

.

Do not hotlink to our banner. Copy and save it to your own server. Host it on MySpace, your websites server or some other service - just do not link directly from Timbo's Drum Shop servers. Linking directly from our servers will get you dropped from this free program. You've been warned.

NOTE: Replace ##AFFILLINK## with The Affiliate Code you recieved in your affiliate welcome e-mail.

Link directly to Timbo's Drum Shop's website using your afffiliate url: http://www.timbosdrumshop.com/?ref=##AFFILLINK##

Now that you've got an affiliate linking code, what do you do with it? We've got four options for you: banner linking, (see below), direct product linking, (see below) wishlist linking (see below) or building your own store.

Want http://www.timbosdrumshop.com/?ref=##AFFILLINK## to look like this? Drums For Sale!
You'll need to brush up on your HTML. Click here for this easy to follow tutorial!

Banner Linking

Timbo's Drum Shop Banner

Utilizing the timbosdrumshop's name recognition, your customers can be confident that they are buying from a known, trusted source. They are sure to add to the graphic content of your existing site. Simply copy the banner to your host, paste the HTML dont forget to add your affiliate code http://www.timbosdrumshop.com/?ref=##AFFILLINK## on your site, and you're good to go!

Best Banner Placement

Banner placement makes a big difference in attention and sales. Research shows the magic spot for a banner is the top right hand corner. Stick it up there and you will get the most clicks and the most sales. Why? Human behavior. It's the same reasoning behind why most folks turn to the right when they enter a physical store. It just is. So place your banner there and reap the benefits!

Do you need a spot a little lower? Place the banner 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. That's the other sweet spot. Folks are much more likely to click there than at the very bottom of the page.

Directly Link to a Product or Category

One of the most effective ways to generate a sale is to link directly from your site to specific products or categories on Timbo's Drum Shop's website. Suggest a particular item or provide information regarding a certain instrument, create product reviews, and then encourage your viewers to buy the item via convenient direct links.

How to Direct Link

Direct linking to our products is a simple matter.

To slash or not to slash? A slash is necessary ONLY when linking to the url http://www.timbosdrumshop.com, but NOT when linking to any specific page on the site. The correct syntax (as shown at the top of this page) is

http://www.timbosdrumshop.com/?ref=##AFFILLINK##.

However, if you are linking to any specific page (as indicated by the appearance of .aspx in the url), using the slash will generate an error message. The correct syntax is

http://www.timbosdrumshop.com/Whatever-page-you-link-to.aspx?ref=##AFFILLINK##

In the event that your link doesn't work, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Let's say you want to link to the Pro Mark Maple SD2 Bolero Drum Stick. Normally, you would just link to the address you see in your web browser:

http://store.timbosdrumshop.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=2314

In order for us to know the customer came to us from your site, you need to add a bit of stuff containing your affiliate code to the end of the product's address.

Your affiliate code is: ##AFFILLINK## (this is the number you recieved from us when you signed up to be an affiliate.

The complete bit of stuff you need is: ?(or &)ref=##AFFILLINK##

Add this to the end of the product's address. Using the Pro Mark Maple SD2 Bolero Drum Stick example, the new address to link to would be: How to know WHEN to use ?ref=##AFFILLINK## or when to use &ref=##AFFILLINK##. It's actually quite easy!

  • If the URL you are directing traffic to ends in .aspx your link will need to read like this
    http://store.timbosdrumshop.com/shop/item.aspx?ref=##AFFILLINK##

  • If the URL you are directing traffic to ends in anyting other than .aspx your link will need to read like this
    http://store.timbosdrumshop.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=2314&ref=##AFFILLINK##

  • This is standard CGI Script. The ? mark indicates the beginning of your script variables. so .aspx ends the url the ? begins the variables.

  • Now that you have the basics of how we can direct using the variables... I will now show you an address with referals to an item, affilliate code AND wishlist!
    http://store.timbosdrumshop.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=2314&ref=##AFFILLINK##&ref=##WISHLISTLINK##

  • I told you it was easy...

    Wishlists

Did you know that the new timbos drum shop site has shareable Wishlists? Did you know that you can link a Wishlist URL code with your affiliate code, receiving both gifts and commissions?

Great for anyone who has a special ability to drive people to bestow gifts upon them.

    Step by Step:

    1. Create a Wishlist.

     • If you haven't already started a Wishlist in your timbosdrumshop account, you may do so at any time by clicking the "Add to Wishlist" button that appears next to every item on the product details page.

     • You can create as many Wishlists as you like, and name them whatever you like.

NOTE: the sharing of Wishlists will reveal the email address that was used to create that Wishlist. If you do not wish to share your email address with the purchaser, I suggest you create a new one (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc). This is the only identifying information that will be shared with the purchaser. Your name, address, etc will never be shared.

    2. Attach your affiliate code to the URL of the Wishlist.

     • On your Wishlist page, there will be a URL displayed for sharing. Copy this URL.

     • At the end of the Wishlist URL, attach your affiliate linking code using the following formula: &ref=##AFFILLINK##

Note that "&" has replaced the standard "?" in this case.
In other words, instead of adding:

?ref=##AFFILLINK## to the end of the url, you will add &ref=##AFFILLINK## to the end of the wishlist url.

It may sound complicated, however, once you get the hang of it, you'll be reaping the rewards in no time, in both gear and greenbacks!
